The United Church of Christ now uses this c.1778 school house for administrative offices.  Originally this was the second school built in Easton PA. While walking down Sitgreaves alley over the course of a few months, I kept seeing a stone above a window move further and further out of the wall. While the building is in need of a benefactor willing to pay to have the Portland cement mortar removed and replaced with lime mortar,  I was only able to offer my small contribution. The original window frame was in excellent condition without any evidence of rotting, but the modern fascia board attached some years ago (above the storm window) was made of pine. As it swelled with water, it loosened the stone from the wall.  The repair was a simple replacement of the stone and replacement of the pine fascia board with mahogany.
